Joanne used to pride herself on her vitality, stamina, and perseverance. She could push herself through anything. Joanne kept a regular schedule to do cardio, lift weights, and stretch. Joanne had so much energy every morning that she didn’t even need coffee for that morning boost. Who wouldn’t want a little bit of that?

Then COVID hit. The gyms shut down. Yoga disappeared. Yet, Joanne was resourceful. To keep her body moving, she pulled out a few bands that hooked to a door and did arm and leg weight-bearing routines that she could remember. She walked around her neighborhood and even went for a few hikes. She felt good yet longed for more intense workouts.

Almost overnight, foot pain set in. She woke up in the morning, and it hurt even to stand. Over the course of a morning, the pain would slowly dissipate, so she didn’t worry about it.

Then, long walks began to hurt her foot, so she took shorter walks. She kept adapting to her foot’s pain by doing less, hoping not to irritate it further. Joanne hoped that doing less would help whatever was causing the pain to heal.

A few more months went by, Joanne started gaining weight despite a healthy diet. She started drinking coffee again to boost her energy in the morning.

Two more months went by, Joanne could barely walk. She thought, what the heck is going on? This is ridiculous. She missed her walks outside that brought her inner peace. This was her time when she left the phone in the house, took deep breaths, and admired the beauty.

A total of six months went by. Joanne shouted out loud, “Enough is enough. I can’t live like this anymore. Everything hurts. Now, my hips hurt. This is ridiculous. This pain is taking up on my energy.”

What’s your pain threshold?

What situations in your life or career no longer serve you?

It’s time to stop tolerating pain!

Pain is not only physical. Pain can be pent up anger about a relationship. Pain can be an unresolved situation that your mind stews over with your thoughts every day. This pain takes up a lot of your energy. Maybe you fought with your partner? You keep rehearsing what they did over and over again in your head. Is that really helping you move forward? No.

You have no clue that you’re leaking energy every day on situations and relationships that have an unresolved conflict. This is what causes pain. Imagine a large water pipe that has 10 holes in it. Slowly this water leaks out. Suddenly you’re standing in a pool of water without even realizing it. This is how you lose energy every hour of your life.

It’s time to reclaim your energy. Stop tolerating situations, relationships, and even PRACTICES that no longer serve you.

Guess what. Joanne found a solution. She identified that a tight hip muscle that ran all the way down her leg was causing her foot pain. After six weeks of intensive therapy, Joanne is now pain-free. She then sought professional weight training to rebalance what muscles were strong and what muscles were weak. The pain no longer sucks her energy. Joanne wished she made the decision faster.

Wishing you a joyful, loving, and prosperous day!
