What is wealth to you?

Jody spends the 15th of every month paying her bills. Her income is excellent, and it’s all routine except for today. With a strange swirl of air, something was different. She couldn’t quite pinpoint what was going through her head.

Jody slowly leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and said quietly, what do I really want?

Yes, I can pay my bills. I’m grateful for a roof over my head and food to eat. Somehow Living the dream life didn’t depict her either.

Then, her eyes slowly teared up. All I really want is to share this amazing life with others? Jody misses the laughter of playing cards with a group of people. She would love to see her niece’s eyes light up while exploring new cultures from their small town neighborhood where they live.

She took out a piece of paper.

In big letters: WHAT BRINGS ME JOY?

Her consciousness quickly flowed as she drew several columns. Each column represented an aspect of her life that brought joy. Her job represented only one column.

Jody wrote with abandon until her brain dumped every bit of consciousness onto the paper.
What she realized was that each column represented a bank account in her life. Yes, she had money in the bank to pay bills and be out of survival mode, yet she wasn’t wealthy at all. The accounts that represented her joy had only cents in them.

From this day forward, Jody rearranged her time to fill her joy accounts. That’s true wealth.

What would you fill your joy accounts with?

Wishing you a joyful, loving, and prosperous day!
